Project Brief

Sydney Preston is an online fitness coach focused on feel-good movement, balanced routines, and sustainable habits. Like many trainers who market themselves on social media, her content was engaging but visually inconsistent, making it difficult for potential clients and brand partners to immediately understand her positioning or take her expertise seriously.

My role was to translate her fun and sunny personality into a recognizable brand presence. The identity needed to feel warm, beachy, and motivating while still polished enough to establish authority and trust. I developed a cohesive visual system including logo variations, a peachy tropical palette with a citrus accent, typography, and platform-specific content design for Instagram and YouTube.

Rather than functioning as decoration, the branding works as communication, signalling professionalism, clarifying values, and helping both clients and partners quickly identify alignment. The result is a coaching brand that feels intentional instead of pieced together, creating a consistent experience wherever Sydney shows up online.

Logo Suite

Sydney needed a logo system that could live where her audience does — profile photos, thumbnails, workout guides, and brand collaborations — without losing recognition. I designed a flexible family of five logos that adapt to platform and scale while maintaining consistency.

The primary logo transforms the d in Sydney into a palm tree, establishing her relaxed California-inspired energy and giving the brand a memorable visual anchor. The secondary logo supports the design and ensure readability across wide and stacked formats.

To reflect how her business functions online, a truncated tertiary logo uses her handle, syd.prs, with a citrus accent as the dot that reinforcing the colour story while making the mark feel native to social platforms.

Finally, a minimal monogram logo mark provides a clean alternative to the palm motif, allowing Sydney to shift between personality-forward and polished depending on context.

Together, the suite balances recognizability and flexibility, giving her a brand that scales with her content instead of fighting it.

Typography

The type system balances fun and authority. Energetic enough to feel uplifting, structured enough to feel trustworthy.

A bold serif headline establishes confidence with a little whimsy, while the handwritten script display adds personality and warmth in small moments. Supporting subheads keep information clear, and a clean body font ensures workouts, tips, and programs remain easy to read.

Together, the hierarchy mirrors Sydney’s coaching style: encouraging, human, and organized. It conveys guidance that feels friendly, but still professional enough to follow.

Colour Scheme

The palette balances warmth and authority to position Sydney as both approachable and credible.

Soft neutrals (Ivory and Just Peachy) create an inviting, lifestyle-first foundation, avoiding the harsh intensity common in fitness branding. Fresh accents (Limoncello and Pistachio) add energy and recognizability while scrolling, reinforcing her feel-good approach to movement.

Deeper tones (Big Sur and Midnight) ground the brand, bringing contrast and trust to educational content and calls-to-action.

Together, the system communicates balanced wellness: motivating, calm, and professional. This strategy creates a coaching brand people want to follow and invest in.

Brand Pattern

To support Sydney’s brand, I created a brand pattern using key elements from the logo design: the palm tree and the dot. The simple, recognizable repeating pattern is versatile in colour combinations and applications from her social media to her training guides.
